The minimum
- A CBCT with a field of view covering the region to be planned, and DICOM export. That is enough to start.
- An impression — digital or conventional. An intraoral scanner speeds everything up, but it is not a prerequisite.
What actually makes the difference
It is not the brand. It is the field of view, the voxel size and how still the patient stays — and, in scanning, how dry the field is. A modest machine with the right protocol gives better files than an expensive one set up wrongly.
