The software
What R2GATE is
You do not need to learn it to use it. You need to know what it does and where it helps.
R2GATE is MegaGen Implant’s planning software. We use it every day; you meet it twice — when you approve the plan, and when you read the drilling protocol.
Superimposition: two files, one model
The CBCT shows bone. The impression shows surfaces — teeth, gingival contour, the existing restoration. Planning only becomes possible once the two are merged accurately. The merge relies on shared reference points: teeth where there are teeth, an R2 tray where there are not enough.
Prosthetically driven position
The restoration is designed first, then the implant goes in. That order is the whole difference: the implant is placed where the bone allows it and the prosthetics require it — not simply where there happens to be bone.
Digital EYE
A reading of bone quality at the implant site, before a drill touches anything. The drilling sequence that ships with the guide comes from it: how far we widen, where we stop, what primary stability to expect.
R2GATE Lite — the part that concerns you
Free, on Windows, macOS, iPad, iPhone and Android. It downloads your case; you rotate it, measure and approve. It is not planning software — it is checking software, which is why it takes five minutes to learn.

The software is always downloaded from MegaGen, never from us. An out-of-date build served by us would be worse than one extra click.
Where the software stops
R2GATE produces the plan and the guide. It does not decide whether a patient is a candidate for immediate loading, it does not see the occlusion in the mouth, and it does not replace clinical judgement. Those stay yours — which is why the plan passes through your approval before anything is printed.

The form asks for everything needed so that no phone call is required: the files, the sites in FDI notation, the implant system and the surgical kit. You get a reference number and a tracking link.
